RACE RULES 2024

Accepting birds April 1st through June 15th.  We will be taking a maximum of 1000 birds.

Replacement birds accepted up to June 15th. Breeders if you send more than a 5 bird team send an extra as a replacement to help offset the new shipping increase. Starting this year we will be using the Benzing Live clocking.

 

416 Race (Optional):  $100 entry fee. $25 from original entry fee will be held for the race. Paid by first drop-Clocking order

 

Perch Fee:  $125 per bird (non-refundable). Prepayment of perch fees after January 1st is the only way to confirm perch reservations. Birds that arrive without perch fees will not enter the loft.

Entry Fee: $300 per bird Mandatory due after 100 Mile activation race. 50.00 of entry fee will go towards AVG. SPEED.

Birds will be quarantined for at least 7 days upon arrival. Birds will be vaccinated for PMV & 30-day booster, treated for coccidiosis, canker, and internal/external parasites.

All birds will have their 9th and 10th flight pulled. We request that you vaccinate your birds prior to sending to help with the loss issues associated with all of the birds being introduced at the same time.

Visitors are always welcome by appointment.

​

All eligible birds must be activated 3 days prior 1st race to maintain eligibility. Birds not activated by breeders will be listed as available.

 

5 Race Average Speed Series.

​

Birds will be trained twice a week during races weather permitting.

​

Race dates subject to change due to weather conditions and condition of the birds.

​

The race course will be NNE. We have a predominantly South wind. If winds hold true the races should be headwind occasionally there out of the north. Check the archives for course race speeds. We seem to have at least 1 fast race during the series.

​

Prizes paid by the first drop then clocking order for the remaining positions up to top 10% places. 416 mile race will be paid top 10% of birds entered in this race. All other races will be paid by clocking order. In the event of a piggyback bird on the drop that bird will be identified and place at the back of that clocking group. In the event of a tie, those birds will share the combined winnings equally.

All races will stop 50 hours after release time. Any position not filled within 50 hours will be divided equally with all clocked birds for that race. After the clocked positions are paid for there order. All races will be paid within 30 days of the final race.

​

Birds not activated three days prior to  the first race may be activated by another breeder. You must activate all birds no exceptions. All non activated birds will become the property of Sooner Challenge OLR. Birds not claimed 5 days after final race will become the property of Sooner Challenge OLR. It is the breeders responsibility to check wincompanion for second day birds.

​

Birds will be shipped back at breeder’s expense. Birds not claimed 5 days after the last race will become the property of Sooner Challenge OLR. Birds will have time to fully recover after final race prior to shipping. To avoid shipping hardships all birds will be shipped back to the original breeder birds were flown under.

​

In the event of any unforeseen incidents i.e. No birds make it to the final race or return from final race. The series will end after the previous race. Payouts will be sent out off of the last race. Meaning the previous race will be counted as the final race.

​

15% of entry fees will be held for expenses.

​

Participants must be 18 years of age or older.

​

W-9 forms will need to be completed if winnings are over $600. There are no exceptions. if your a two man syndicate or a 50 man syndicate one person has to send in a completed W9.
